Hello!
Geoff Sease here. Welcome to my writing home! Six years ago, I left my corporate career to become an author. Why the change, you may ask? Well, while I was moderately successful managing supply chains for large companies, the urge to write that began when I was nine years old in upstate New York never faded. I still remember my first little stories, written on the backs of my dad’s old work papers, and later, the poems I submitted to my high school creative writing classes. Even as a young man trying to make a name for myself in the business world, I continued to write. Unfortunately, every bit of those novel snippets was lost on unusable floppy disks.
I began writing When We Push Through Sound in 2017, in the months before returning to the U.S. from Japan, where my family and I lived as corporate expats. For a while, I tried to balance work and writing, but when my mind began to wander to my still unfinished story during meetings at the office, I knew it was time to make a permanent change. So, I put away my fancy spreadsheets and PowerPoints to dedicate all my time to MS Word, where my manuscript lived. Two years later, When We Push Through Sound was published by Archway. Thankfully, my book won several awards, including the Literary Titan Book Award, Readers’ Choice Book Award, American Writing Award, and BREW Book Excellence Award.
Now, I’m in the final stages of editing my second novel, Mercury and the Phoenix, a story of two superstar runners desperate to find happiness beyond the track oval. I’m very excited about this project, which hopefully will connect with readers who love stories of personal reinvention and the thrill of sport.
